Pudgy Penguins NFT

Project Info

Pudgy Penguins is a pfp project of an nft collection of 8,888 penguins generated on the Ethereum blockchain.

Built through a strong organic community of holders known as "The Huddle," Pudgy Penguins has developed a strong reputation among the crypto and nft twitter communities.

Constructed from five different types of traits, these cute penguins were originally available for sale for 0.03 ETH. After selling out in 20 minutes, the Pudgy Penguins were acclaimed with a purchase by New York Times reporter Kevin Roose (now Moonbirds and Proof.xyz) and a front-page article "I Joined a Penguin NFT Club Because Apparently That's What We Do Now."

Since launching, Pudgy Penguin has steadily added value through collaborations, including a 1/1 with famous artist Gossip Goblin that sold for 20 ETH.

In late December, Pudgy Penguins launched "Lil Pudgys," a collection of 22,222 Pudgy Penguin companion NFTs.

In April 2022, CoinDesk reported the purchase of Pudgy Penguins IP for 750 ETH by Luca Netz. The purchase "allows the investor group to launch a token and future airdrops."

Pudgy Penguins Empowering Subcommunities

The Pudgy Penguins announced the release of "The Pudgy soulTransport," a decentralized soulbound token distribution solution for Pudgy Penguins subcommunities.

What is a soulbound token: Soulbound tokens (SBTs) are NFTs or tokens that cannot be transferred from the wallet in which they were initially distributed.

Why it matters: The growth of the Pudgy Penguins brand has been heavily influenced by its enthusiastic community and growing fan base. The Pudgy soulTransport initiative represents an innovative approach to empower the community to contribute to the growth of the brand while exploring and innovating potential technological uses of soulbound tokens.

What's next: The Pudgy soulTransport will start with a limited number of individuals and subcommunities, but will eventually be available to a broader range of users.
